Permit me a space in your widely-read newspaper to call the attention of Kano State governor, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, to come to our aid over the issue of overseas scholarship scheme, which was designed to be given to Kano State indigenes regardless of status, religion or political affiliation, but with the sole aim of filling the educational gap between "Kanawa" and other states.
Sir, the initiative is a commendable effort that deserves to be emulated by other well-to-do indigenes of Kano State. Unfortunately, those appointed to carry out this tremendous effort are not delivering it diligently as the scholarships are only given to the sons and daughters of the elite and high-ranking officers of your respected government who needless to say can sponsor their children out of their pockets.
My dear governor, your attention is needed, so that children of ordinary citizens like me will have the opportunity to enjoy the scholarship.
