Battle With Cancer: Gani Calls For Prayers

Chief Gani Fawehinmi, the fiery human rights activist and advocate of the masses, has called on all Nigerians to pray fervently for him, as he battles against a deadly cancer threatening to snuff life out of him.
Fawehinmi spoke with P.M.News on phone, from London, saying that he was still fighting hard to overcome the ailment. “I need your prayers. I am still fighting hard against cancer. I need your prayers,” he stated. The human rights activist also spoke of his biggest regret for the Nigerian nation, which he said was bad leadership.
He said bad leadership has been the greatest problem of Nigeria, which has brought about retardation and retrogression. “Bad leadership has been the major cause of our problem. There have been retardation and retrogression,” he said.
According to him, “when you have a leadership that does not have a vision and good rapport with the masses, such cannot see the people at the level of governance.”
Fawehinmi stated that a bad leader possesses several negative traits such as ungodliness and anti-progress, among others. “A bad leader is ungodly, he is anti-progress, anti-future and anti-good,” he stated.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) had been battling with cancer since 2007, making him to visit a London hospital for medical checkup and treatment. He told the nation openly sometimes ago, that he had been struck by a deadly cancer, saying he believes God would see him through. Despite this, he still sacrificed his time to contribute to national discuss and still spoke resolutely against tyranny and oppression.
