NIGERIA ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS IN ITS FOURTH YEAR
ANNOUNCES ITS 2009 NOMINEES FOR THE YEAR'S BEST IN NIGERIAN ENTERTAIMENT

NEW YORK, NY– (March 12, 2009) – The Producers of the NEA Awards are pleased to announce the Nominees for the Fourth Annual NEA Awards scheduled for Washington DC on Saturday, June 6th, 2009 at 5:30pm at the Howard University Cramton Auditorium. This year’s nominees include some of the biggest hit makers in the scene who are mostly young and upcoming acts and some familiar faces.
eLDee, MI, Naeto C and J Martins lead the pack with three nominations each. eLDee is nominated for Hottest Single of the year for “Big Boy”, Music Producer of the year and Best Music Video for “Bosi Gbangba”. MI is nominated for Best Album of the year for “Talk about it”, Best New Act and Best Rapper of the year. Naeto C is nominated for Best Album of the year for “My P”, Best Rapper and Best Music Video for “Kini Big Deal”. And J Martin is nominated for Hottest Single of the year for “Good or Bad”, Best New Act and Best Music Video for “Good or Bad”.
D’banj and Dare were both nominated for two awards, Best Album of the year, “The Entertainer” and “Undareyted” respectively and for Best Music Video for “Suddenly” and “Not the girl” respectively.
Other familiar faces that were nominated includes Tuface for Best Album of the year for “Unstoppable” and 9ice for Indigenous Artist of the year nomination along with Yinka Ayifele, Pasuma, Toba Gold and Da Green. Banky W. also nabbed a Best International Artist nomination along with Naira, Iceberg Slim, ASA and Kelly Handsome.
The film category has some familiar faces and names, Mercy Johnson, Omotola Ekeinde, Rita Dominic, Genevieve Nnaji and Funke Akindele were all nominated for Best Actress Category while Best Actor nominations went to Desmond Elliot, Jim Ikye, Saheed Balogun, Ramsey Noah and Emeka Ezeronye.
I Go Die, Klint De Drunk, Tee A, AY and Jedi were nominated for the Best Comedian category.

Voting begins on April 6th, 2009 (see complete list below) and ends May 25th, 2009. Winners will be announced later this summer at the Award ceremony.
The executive producers wishes to announce the additions of Ebuwa Martin Agbonwaneten and Bolaji Ajayi to the production team both have over 15 years of experience in event planning and event production. With the recent departure of Martin Fayomi, Ebuwa will be tasked with production execution and Bolaji will be responsible for our Nigeria marketing and promotions.

About Howard University’s Cramton Auditorium
Cramton Auditorium opened its doors on January 8, 1961. The 1,508 seat auditorium, named for former Congressman Louis C. Cramton of Michigan is located at the corner of Sixth and Fairmont Streets, Northwest in Washington, D.C. on Howard University’s main campus. Hilyard Robinson, architect, designed and oversaw the construction of this theatre.
