JOSE MOURINHO has apologised to Cristiano Ronaldo for criticising the Manchester United winger's upbringing.

Chelsea boss Mourinho angered Sir Alex Ferguson by describing Ronaldo as "ill-educated, disrespectful and immature".

But Ronaldo, 22, insists he has patched up his differences with the Special One.

The Portuguese ace said: "Mourinho has apologised to me and now I have no problem with him.

"I am pleased that this has happened.

"As far as I am concerned, the whole thing is now in the past."
