Mimiko’s victory, a reflection of people’s wish, Shekarau
The Kano State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Shekarau has hailed the confirmation of the Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko by the Court of Appeal as a true reflection of the wishes of the people of the State.
Shekarau, who was the guest of honour at a dinner hosted by the Ondo State government in honour of Chief Sehinde Arogbofa to commemorate his 70 th birthday at the Government House in Akure last weekend enthused that Mimiko’s victory was also a symbol of truth and righteousness of the nation’s judiciary.
The governor noted that the enviable track records of Dr Mimiko in the State as a two-time Health Commissioner, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and as a former Housing and Urban Development Minister led to the massive vote he recorded at the poll and which the Judiciary had confirmed with its landmark judgements.
While describing the Governor as vibrant, young and a purposeful politician with bright future, Alhaji Shekarau enjoined the people of the State to cooperate with him in his desire to transform the State.
The Kano State governor also congratulated Arogbofa on attaining three scores and ten and lauded him for his dedication and focus attributes which he noted made him to be one of the fathers of modern Nigeria. He however enjoined him to join politics saying that people of his types are needed in the nation’s political arena.
In his remarks, Dr Olusegun Mimiko equally congratulated Arogbofa who he described as an accomplished writer and a teacher of repute.
While eulogizing his contributions to societal development, Mimiko said that many Nigerians had benefited from his numerous works and wished him many more fruitful years on earth.
In his short response, Chief Arogbofa thanked the Ondo State Government for the honour done him and promised to serve humanity with renewed vigour.
