Atku and Zuma: Same Travails, Same Persecution

Please give me a space in your widely read paper to express my views..It is likely Atiku Abubakar may be President and Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria in 2011.First,Jacob Zuma,the newly elected President of South Africa went  through similar trumped-up charges Atiku  Abubakar went through during the tyrannical rule of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.Zuma was accused of receiving bribe from one of aides,just like Atiku Abubakar was accused of tampering with the PTDF funds.The other alleged accusations Jacob Zuma went through were sleeping with a HIV patient without using condom and was taken to court to stop him from contesting the presidency.Atiku Abubakar was taken thirteen times on many frivolous charges to stop from contesting the 2007 presidential elections.

If we are to be honest with ourselves,Alhaji Umaru Yar’adua didn’t win the presidential elections.The winner could have been Atiku Abubakar,who was getting popular because of his travails and his stand on democracy,the principle of free and fair elections.Just like Jacob Zuma was intimidated, harassed and terrorized, so was Atiku Abubakar here at home in Nigeria.At the swearing ceremony of Jacob Zuma on 7 th o f  May 2009,Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was given an official invitation and there he was sitted on a front seat.When I saw it on television,it was appealing,admiring and magnificent.In a fleet of a moment,I can see Atku Abubakar as a President in 2011 no matter what PDP does..Like Jacob Zuma,Atiku Abubakar,was Vice-President,but as God would have it,he became President.Even now,as you are reading this letter,many Nigerians are regretting wishing Atiku Abubakar could be President since he had a programme from PROGRESS TO PROSPERITY,but the so-called President came unprepared.Atiku Abubakar shall be President in 2011.We cannot continue to tolerate this sluggish governance,aimless clueless slow  and snail space movement.For how long can we wait indarkness and no potable water?We are under siege by armed robbers.There is no employment for our graduates and corruption continues to thrive as an industry under our nose?It is either Turai,the first Lady’s word or her daughters in various states as first ladies or Hon,Minister of Agriculture,Dr Ruma or Kabiru Tanimu or some other buffoon who has blocked Mr President from other views.It is 21 months away and Nigerians will go to the polls.We can say no to rigging.
