Niger-Delta Crisis: Rep IBN NaAllah got it wrong

At the floor of the Federal House during the debate which led to their support for the continued military action in some towns of the Delta State creek towns, quoting a Representative’s comment, Champion newspaper front page Friday 22, 2009 wrote “Hon Ibn NaAllah caused a stir when he declared that the nation can afford to waste 20 million people in the Niger Delta area to save the rest 100 million Nigerian population”. This is far-reaching for a person ‘elected’ or ‘selected’ to speak for the masses at the national house of representative.

Could he have spoken with the minds of those he is representing? I have not seen a single governor of the Niger Delta States condemn this inflammable statement from a supposedly federal representative. It is a pity.
