Editor Sir,

On Akwa Ibom PDP suspending Ex-Gov Attah

One is beginning to agree with some newspaper columnists when they alleged in their articles (past) that AKPF rather than PDP members are ruling the Akwa Ibom State, otherwise how come that all the party executives in Akwa Ibom PDP are made up of AKPF members only.  The columnists had drawn the attention of the PDP national headquarters when this was gradually taking place but they turned deaf ear.

And with the allegation that Chief Ogbulafor, the PDP national chairman, got a whooping N10billion rural electrification contract in Akwa Ibom, as petitioned by Hon Ime Mbat-Essien, what would you expect if only Ogbulafor has the sole power to adjudicate on the purported suspension. But one reads of the Chairman’s deputies not being fools; they are aware of the ‘corruption’ going on within to the extent that one of them was reported in Leadership newspaper (6/6/09) to have locked the Chairman out the other day.

Furthermore, Attah who is also a PDP Board of Trustees member is no small fly in PDP’s framework; his purported suspension cannot hold and therefore one is not surprised as Attah takes the issue lightly..

Governor Akpabio should know that it stinks childishly to read that Attah is being suspended based on that people from other parties, especially AC, attended Attahs’ seventieth birthday functions held in Lagos and Uyo. I was at the main function and therefore surprised reading the falsehood quoted of the Akwa Ibom chapter PDP Chairman through the media that Attah promised the AC chieftains at his function that he was on his way out of PDP. Attah, man of the people has a good aura that(all) people are normally attracted to his functions.
