Dear Editor,
In support of Lam Adeshina on rebranding Nigeria
Nigeria knows how to waste resources. Simple things are normally made to look difficult by the operators of the government. Wherein they are the ones needed to be rebranded as most of them are deep-neck into situations as in corruption, they are the ones talking about rebranding Nigeria itself.
Former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Lam Adeshina, in The Nation of June 5, 2009, had correctly said that there would not be any meaningful rebranding where people in government in particular encourage and practice corruption. Assume what he meant; let the rebranding start from the top.
With the startling revelation of former FCT Minister El-Rufuai who himself was the in pool of corruption at the time he was in position, one can now see that after all President Yar’Adua as a was Governor of Katsina was not a ‘saint’. El-Rufai as well revealed how First Lady Turai was a great influence in the running of Katsina State; the same thing is allegedly continuing at the federal level now they are in the presidency.
In the alternative to self-branding being canvassed by Lam, could the type of Ghana revolution apply? Most people would say, including yours sincerely, NO. Then, what should be the middle course solution?
