Dear Editor,,
El-Rufai morally bankrupt but…..
I remember reading in the Daily Sun newspaper of April 16, 2009 where the Justice Minister Aondoakaa was quoted as saying that the former FCT Minister, el-Rufai, is morally bankrupt.
I could not agree less judging from the atrocities that were credited to the ex-Minister el-Rufai; the way he sold government properties to himself, wife, friends and cronies; the way he destroyed people’s buildings but turned round re-allocated some of the lands; how he paid his female PA in foreign currency, etc.
El-Rufai had earlier pretended a saint when he stirred a controversy whereby he alleged that some Senators demanded bribes before giving clean bill to some of the ministerial nominees, him being one of the victims.
But reading The Punch (1/6/09) where the same el-Rufai spilled the beans on how President Yar’Adua was fostered on the nation by Obasanjo and how Yar’Adua’s name was delisted among the corrupt governors, one would not be proved wrong to say that we have in place a flawed government, founded on morally bankrupt situation. It is clear now why the nation is where it is today.
While agreeing with Aondoakaa’s view on el-Rufai, I am also agreeing with el-Rufai that the present government which Aondoakaa also serves, is alleged to be as well morally bankrupt.
