Ghanian Media abuzz over allegation against NDC
 |
President John Evans Attah-Mills |
Newspapers and Radio stations in Ghana had a feast of the exclusive reports from Pointblanknews.com which accused former President Jerry Rawlings and his National Democratic Party, NDP, of a slush fund of about $3.5 Million from Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State to fund its last Presidential elections.
Mr. John Evans Attah-Mills of the NDP won the 2008 Presidential elections.
Ghanaian media, determined to ensure the authenticity of the report had repeatedly called Pointblanknews.com for more details. Unknown to the Journalists and Reporters from the former Gold Coast, Governor Amaechi is not the only one who funded the NDC’s Presidential elections. Former Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Lagos State was also said to have extended “some millions to NDC.” A Nigerian Intelligence source has since confirmed this disclosure.
The interest of the Nigerian Politicians in NDC’s politics in Ghana is not known but close associates of the two politicians opined that it may not be unconnected with several business interests they have in Ghana.
Daily Guide, JoyFm, CitiFm, AmanaFM, PeaceFM and many others had called Pointblanknews.com over the exclusive report. Some spokesperson of the NDC who were interviewed denied the allegation, accusing the opposition parties of propaganda aimed at discrediting the administration of President Attah Mills.
