Dear Editor,
Letter to IGP Okiro before he retires
Dear Sir, I would like to know what you have done regarding Christy Essien-Igbokwe’s letters to you on threat to lives of her family members and business, by agents of Akpabio’s Akwa Ibom government. I believe you understood the contents of her letter to the publisher of Fresh Facts newspapers as it is only a stone-hearted that would not move into action thereafter. I hope nothing happens to any member of her family and business because God and Nigerians would not forgive you if you failed to play your required part; knowing the Police, if anything negative should happen to the family (God forbid), the normal thing Police would say is “We are investigating the matter” and there it ends.
IGP Sir, you owe many people who admire this lady to tell us what you have done because we read her say “I have written to the IGP who I hope is still handling the matter”; this statement is pregnant. You are a father and I hope you did not just sit down and only planning to hand over the case to your predecessor, as you set to retire soon..
The Police have a toga of corruption but it does not mean that all policemen are corrupt. There is a factual nemesis that “whoever supports evil or injustice, such shall live with the person and generations..” Therefore, I hope that no one compromises on this matter that concerns this illustrious daughter of Nigeria. She has made the nation proud locally and internationally.
Remain blessed.
