Ondo flags off another housing scheme

Barely two months after it flagged of two Housing Schemes simultaneously in Akure the State Capital, the Ondo State Government last weekend flagged off another housing project with an assurance to the people of the State to provide affordable houses.

Under the first phase of the new project which is being carried out by a private company, Medaville Building and Construction Company, 260 units of four and five bedroom duplexes with two-room boys quarters, each would be completed in six months.

At the foundation laying ceremony in Akure, the State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko enthused that the initiative of his government to invite private investors to develop the land was yielding results adding that no efforts would be spared in making Ondo State great. Mimiko who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr Kola Ademujimi commended the company for partnering with the State Government to develop the State and assured it of its support.

The Managing Director of the building firm, Mr. Ademola Akin Benson had in his speech lamented that the gap between those who own houses and those who do not kept widening adding that the trend must be arrested in the interest of all

He noted further that his company came to Ondo State to invest in the housing project in order to making houses affordable to the people of the State. He however disclosed that the project was a joint venture between the Federal Government and the company to provide qualitative housing in the State and assured that the project would be completed in time so that those who have interest could own their houses in the State soonest
