Re: Akpabio in task of reviving a failed State?

An article entitled above credited to one Peter Udiong and which ran in almost all daily newspaper in the country, refers.

The name Peter Udiong sounds Akwa Ibom but lives in Lagos.. I live and work in Akwa Ibom. Majority of Akwa Ibom people never see the State as (any) failed. If that is his wish, we pray that the present government does not lead us to such. The average Akwa Ibom person that read the article easily passed it as trash only good for the dust-bin.

Udiong and his paymasters are advised to stop insulting our sensibilities. It is on record that Attah moved our people forward, with respectability, to the mainstream Nigeria. Udiong as an Akwa Ibom person, I am sure, is now respected more than before and he is proud to be from Akwa Ibom or not called mere “Calabar man”. He should concentrate in good advices only for governor Akpabio to move us further from where Attah stopped. We now have increased resources to the State; let the governor create genuine Akwa Ibom indigenous construction giants. We now only see his involvement with established foreign firms that easily pass as a channel for siphoning our resources. He may have created new ‘indigenous’ companies but we observe those are for the benefit of people in government.

Most importantly, we expected that within the first one year in office, the governor would have concentrated giving us electricity from the Ikot Abasi Power Plant. Early in his administration, he set up a Committee which confirmed to our general knowledge that the project was 90% completed. Previous government claimed 94% completion. One does not see why 10% remaining job has not been achieved yet, more than two years in office? Let him realize that this is a project that would be beneficial to all - small and big businesses in the State.
