Dear Editor,
The altercation between Rotimi and Farida
The EFCC Chairman, Mrs. Farida Waziri ss running the agency, EFCC, she is kept in charge and Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi is governing Rivers State that fell on his shoulders. Both persons have their rights and are entitled to their own opinions and should not be faulted.
The EFCC had indirectly suspected Amaechi for money laundering which is alleged to have been carried out through his aides. The allegation is being strongly contested by the Rivers State government and seems to have gotten respite from the court. Waziri is not happy about this and has indicated appealing against the court’s decision. Amaechi on the other hand has banned EFCC from his domain. Waziri shouts that Amaechi is being childish. And the story goes on.
One question I have for Waziri’s EFCC is: What has it been able to do with the case involving former governor Peter Odili who it charged with looting of Rivers State, glaringly? Odili went to court to stop EFCC from prosecuting him. What has Waziri been able to do thereafter? Is Odili still untouchable even out of office?
It is high time Nigerians are not treated to shows of shame or taken for granted.
