Mimiko swears in Chairmen and members of 4 commissions
Mimiko swears in Chairmen and members of four statutory commissions in Ondo state were today inaugurated by the state Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko with charge to them to use their wealth of experiences and competencies to provide excellent leadership to the people without fear or favour.
The ceremony, which held at the Babafunke Ajasin auditorium in Akure the state capital attracted personalities, including members of the legislative, judiciary and executive arms of government, traditional and religious leaders and politicians among others.
Governor Mimiko, who noted that the emergence of the appointees came through careful and objective selection and screening process, tasked them to eschew nepotism, corruption and unethical practices in the discharge of their duties.
The appointees are for the State Civil Service Commission, House of Assembly Service Commission, Judicial Service commission and Law Commission.
With the inauguration, Dr Mimiko assured the people of the state of his administration's readiness to deploy purposive governance towards efficient service delivery to them.
The governor, who affirmed that his government is a product of rule of law with total commitment to social justice non-violent resolution of conflict for the development of the state, stressed the need to create and sustain an atmosphere of peace and tranquility for the transformation of the state.
He however appealed to leaders and members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to tread the path of peace and justice in the resolution of their conflict and shun any by "partial outsiders "to create tension and crisis.
While congratulating the appointees, Dr Mimiko called on all and sundry to join hands with government to move the state forward.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, a member of the State Judicial Service Commission, Barrister Olu Ogidan assured the governor and people of the state of their selfless service to the state and for the actualization of the vision of the present administration aimed at transforming the socio-economic landscape of the state.
