Oni returns from Brazil, gives assurance on ethanol, biofuel projects

Ekiti State Governor, Engr. Segun Oni has assured that the people of the State in particular and Nigerians in general would reap bountifully from the multimillion dollar Biofuel and Ethanol projects plants, which are being executed in the state.

Special Assistant to the governor on Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka said in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti, the State capital today, that Governor Oni, who gave this assurance at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport on his arrival from a two weeks investment trip to Brazil and South -Africa said; “the trip has enabled us to cross all the t(s) and dot all the i(s) of the Biofuel and Ethanol projects.”

The governor, who travelled out of the country on Saturday, August 29, 2009, arrived at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos at about 5:00 pm yesterday aboard South African Airline.

 Governor Oni revealed that the working tour was very rewarding as his delegate was able to see and understand the import of the two industries in the State,

He pointed out that from the construction to the production stage, the industries will not only attract more people to Ekiti State but will rescue many of its people from jungle of unemployment.

“The benefits of this trip is enormous and we can’t wait to begin to see them manifest. This is because we have been able to straighten all rough edges concerning the Biofuel and Ethanol projects and the coast is now clear for the involvement of our State in the Biofuel and Ethanol business, which are one of the emerging determinants of the world economy.   

“Apart from the project making Ekiti one of the leading producer and supplier of Biofuel and Ethanol in the world, it will also transform the industrial landscape of the State as well as generate employment, stimulate agriculture and empower the indigenes.

Speaking further, Governor Oni revealed that the tour also availed the delegate the opportunity of rubbing minds with investors on dairy farming and agriculture.

Reinforcing the governor's assertion, Chairman, State House of Assembly Committee on Commerce and a member of the opposition Action Congress (AC), Hon Edward Ajewole, who was one of the delegate described the trip as a business victory for Ekiti State.
