Scandal:
U.S refuses Adeniran as Ambassador
...He stole my children -Oluwamukomi
Adeniran, who has made history by becoming the first Nigerian to be refused ambassadorial nomination by the United States, is now confronted by a challenge to his fatherhood of three boys by a man who claims to be the real father of the boys and has sent his claim to US authorities.
The children are Damilola, Tosin and Laolu. As reported by Saharareporters recently, Damilola is the young Adeniran currently accused of rape by the police in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. M.O Oluwamukomi has accused Prof. Adeniran of “stealing his children” and relocating them to the US and changing their last names to his own. His letter sent to the US claims that “Adedamola Adeniran is not a biological son of Prof. Tunde Adeniran, rather, Dammy (as we know him in Nigeria) and his two other brothers: Oluwatosin and Olaoluwa are the sons of Dr. M.O Oluwamukomi, a lecturer in the Dept. of Food Science and Technology, Federal University of Tech., Akure, Ondo State.”
The letter describes the conversion of the children into Adeniran as “a classical example of modern child theft and man’s inhumanity to man.”
It says: “Princess Bukky Olajubu (Oluwamukomi) now Adeniran (their mother) was married to Dr Oluwamukomi in 1985 and the marriage was blessed with 3 children. In 2000, cracks appeared in the marriage and in 2004, Princess Bukky eloped with the children to Germany under the guise of vacationing with the children, in order to be with her then lover now husband, Prof. Adeniran. Then in 2005, she filed for divorce at an Ado-Ekiti High Court presided over by now retired Justice Kowe.
“Before then she had sent a mail to Dr. Oluwamukomi that the children; Tosin, Laolu and Dammy that he had known as his children are not his but Adeniran's children. Dr. Oluwamukomi according to letter was devastated and did everything to make his estranged wife see reason but to no avail because she's not only a greedy woman but also a wicked one to boot. Thereafter, the battle shifted to the court. “
“Eventually the divorce was granted by Justice Kowe in June 2006 with an admission by our former wife that the children actually belong Dr. Oluwamukomi, that she said they weren't his just to spite him. Custody of the 3 children was granted to their mother because they were already schooling abroad but with a provision that they are to be brought to Nigeria on an annual basis to see their father. Alas, that was the last we heard about the children with the exception of rumors that the children were already bearing Prof Adeniran's name and until a kind anonymous friend who knew of this scandal of child theft by Prof sent the news about Dammy's rape saga in the US.”
This story arrives just as the revocation of Professor Adeniran’s nomination as ambassador to the United States by President Yar’Adua was breaking.
Prof. Adeniran was told to return home at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport Abuja as he prepared to leave for the United States, as Foreign Minister Ojo Maduekwe received the revocation of Adeniran’s ambassadorial accreditation. He was billed to leave for the United States on the first week of September, following a farewell dinner for him and Nigeria’s High Commissioner to India, Ambassador Umar Ghali.
The Nigerian government has been told to represent a fresh accreditation application for a new ambassador. Technically, the US does not oppose the representation of Prof. Adeniran’s name, but it will be extremely difficult to clear him as US ambassador in view of the rape charges against Damilola, the revelation that he has two wives living in US, and the mess concerning the parentage of Damilola and his two siblings.
