Sir,
PPA: Letter to my brother Larry Esin
The PPA national convention which took place in Abuja on Saturday September 3 rd, 2009 as expected produced officers to fill in the vacant posts created by resignations. The convention came at the auspicious time as Anambra gubernatorial elections is lurking at the corner with PPA looking up to a good showing.
Chief Larry Esin, the youthful new national chairman of PPA is like a brother to me. He should prove to Nigerians that Akwa Ibom has got the right people for leadership. Larry should not be rubber-stamping for anyone in the PPA else the party would relapse to what brought about the averted disintegration. Larry should not behave like our elder brother, Chief Don Etiebet, who after being a founding member of PDP ran away to APP (now ANPP) where he got to be the national chairmanship position only to later return to PDP and condescended trying to be governor of Akwa Ibom State. I liked the way Akpabio humiliated him to the point that he is now seen as an aide to his former boy, Governor Akpabio. Larry should not also be like our other brother, Obong (Dr.) Chris Ekpenyong (former Deputy to Victor Attah) who thought he could be governor hence he dumped PDP and moved to PPA thinking that Orji Kalu would dole out billions for him for the unattainable position. Now he has come back to his vomit, the PDP. I likened these brothers to prostitutes.
Larry, Akwa Ibom youths are already saying that they now have alternative for Akwa Ibom and praying that you should bring out a youthful governorship candidate on the platform of PPA; now that PDP government is fast looking unimpressive and reeling in alleged corruptions.
Eki Umoh, Olusegun Obasanjo (Abak) Road, UYO, Akwa Ibom.
