Dear Sir,

Militancy and FG double speak
advertisement

Few weeks ago it was reported that Federal Government of Nigeria through its JTF would be combing the creeks to mop up ‘few’ arms that may still be remaining there after the successful disarmament of the Niger Delta militants.

But some of the ex-militant leaders warned that such should not be contemplated. Now the MEND’s main coordinator, Mr. Henry Okah has granted an interview with Al Jezeera TV which revealed that there are still some arms in the creeks probably waiting to resurface if the Federal Government reneges in its post amnesty deal.

To counter what the government saw as an empty talk by Henry Okah, and suggested that there are no more militants or arms remaining in the creeks. It even challenged Henry to name locations where such arms could still be.

There is double-speak on the side of the government in this case otherwise why it contemplated combing the creeks if no more arms. If this is the case, why did government plan combing the creeks.

We really want to know who is deceiving who or telling the lie; the ex-militants, the federal government or/and Henry Okah?
