Can God use NJC for us?
Nigeria is a blessed country with so many natural resources. Nigerians know that the only problem that has eaten deep into our society is corruption. Corruption has been the dreaded cancer which has eaten deep into the fabric of the society since our independence and the only way to eradicate this is to involve both the rich wigs and the less privilege in the fight.
Thank God since the inception of EFCC in 2004, much has been done especially under the present chairman Farida Waziri. So far, EFCC has been able to recover over 170 billion naira with some convictions like that of Bode George.
Bode’s conviction came as a plus on the part of the judiciary with so many positive messages from the masses showing that Nigeria is taking a new turn but the recent development about a certain judge wanting to secure bail for Bode George is uncalled for and not good for the image of Nigeria. Nigerians have discovered that Justice Bode Rhode Vivour has decided to take it on himself to secure bail for Bode George..
Earlier on, it was discovered that he approached Justice Oyewole before Bode’s final conviction, just trying to see that the outcome is positive for Bode George, but unfortunately it turned out the other way round. Now he is up again trying to make sure Bode gets out of prison by ensuring that he presides over the case at the appeal court.
Normally, a case is taken to appeal court and has to wait for three to six month before a date is given but in this case, it succeeded just within a week and has been slated for November 18, 2009.
We Nigerians are calling on the judiciary to please intervene on our behalf.. Bode Rhode should not be part of the member panel neither should he preside over the case.
This fight against corruption is for all and sundry; our eyes are watching closely, will the NJC allow God to use them for Nigeria ?
