UBA Opens in Gabon, now in 14 African Countries

The pan-African financial services Group, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has continued to grow and expand in the continent with the opening of its Gabon affiliate; UBA Gabon, on Monday, November 16, 2009.
The bank which is located on 282 Avenue, Marquis de Compiègne - Immeuble Panoramique Libreville, in the Gabonese capital brings to 14, the number of African countries where UBA has full scale banking operations. The other countries being; Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Chad, Benin, Kenya and Tanzania.
Mr. Rasheed Olaoluwa, Chief Executive Officer, UBA Africa, said with the commencement of operations in Gabon “we have continued to make steady progress in extending the UBA brand in the continent. UBA Gabon is poised to provide full banking services to individual and institutional customers, offering corporate, consumer and prestige financial products to the banking public”
He further explained that bank will tap into upper and lower end of the market in Gabon, allowing both the banked and un-banked to benefit from UBA’s full range of products and services.
