Fresh information has revealed that President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua currently hospitalized at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital And Research center, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia has been in coma for the greater part of the weekend and currently placed under intensive care.
His current state of health was responsible for the influx of Government officials who departed Nigeria for Saudi Arabia last weekend.
Amongst those said to have rushed to the Saudi Hospital after learning about the condition of the President were Governors Bukola Saraki, Issa Yuguda, Chief Economic Adviser to the President, Tanimu Yakubu and some other children of President Yar’Adua.
Pointblanknews.com had exclusively reported that Doctors further confirmed that President Yar’Adua’s organs had failed over the weekend fueling an alarm raised by a very senior member of the entourage that the President’s condition has become precarious.
A source at the hospital in Jeddah informed Pointblanknews.com that throughout the weekend, the President was in coma and was immediately rushed to the Intensive care Unit, ICU. The source disclosed that on Saturday particularly, President Yar’Adua was in and out of the ICU and was placed on life support equipment after he was alleged to have severally gone into coma.
According to the source, “we were very scared that something might happen because at the weekend none of us here could sleep, his situation became worse and he was not responding. On Saturday was the worst of the days and they had to take him to the ICU.”
The source added, “we are just hoping and praying that nothing happens because he has still not responded, but we hope.”
Other hospital sources confided in Pointblanknews.com that due to influx of visitors wanting to see the President, the Hospital has asked that the number of visitors allowed to see the President be reduced. Only the Chief Security officer, the President’s wife, his daughters and few other top government officials have been cleared to have access to where the President is.
The source also confirmed that top Government officials who visited the President are requesting that the President be flown back to Nigeria as soon as possible.
Only recently, doctors officially confirmed that President Yar’Adua is suffering from “acute pericarditis,” a deadly ailment that result from Churg–Strauss syndrome.
