Oni laments Dr. Ibrahim Tahir's death
Ekiti State Governor, Engr. Segun Oni has lamented over the death of Dr.
Ibrahim Tahir, a former Internal Affairs Minister, describing his death as
painful and a national loss.
Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Wale Ojo-Lanre said in a
statement issued in Ado-Ekiti today that Governor Oni, who described the
late Talban Bauchi as a true patriot and a non-tribalist, whose friends
and associates cut across the nation, said his death was painful.
Governor Oni, who prayed for the repose of his soul said; “Nigeria has
again lost one of its great men of robust intelligence and deep thinkers.“Dr. Ibrahim Tahir was patriot and an outstanding statesman of
impeccable integrity, who contributed in no small measure to the unity of
this country.
“The news of his death came to me as a rude shock and all I can say for
now is that his family, friends, associates and admirers should take
solace in the fact that he lived an exemplary and fulfilled life worthy of
emulation by all.
“We implore his family to take solace in the fact that Dr. Tahir’s
life was a mode, a brand that symbolised service to humanity and absolute
dedication to worthy courses through his leadership of the Nigerian Red
Cross Society and services to the nation at various levels.
“On behalf of my family, Government and people of Ekiti State, I express
our heartfelt condolence for the loss of such a distinguished nationalist
and wish the entire family the continued support and guidance of the
Almighty God.”
