The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has rounded off   its campaign for the re-election of Senator Iyiola Omisore with leaders of the party urging voters to come out and vote en-masse for the PDP candidate in next Saturday’s polls.

Leaders of the party, including the Chairman of the PDP Committee for the re-election of Senator Omisore, Ekiti State Governor, Engr Segun Oni Segun, who spoke yesterday, at  Ile-Ife during the final rally before Saturday’s  election  described the PDP’s candidate as the best choice for people of the Ife/Ijesa senatorial district.

Oni urged the Yoruba Nation to resist every attempt by some group of people to force them back to the opposition camp which would not be in the interest of the South West Geo-political zone.

He said the failure of the Action Congress (AC) to hold any rally before the election was an indication that the party was not prepared for the election.

The governor described Senator Omisore as one of the most respected members of the Senate and a sincere Yoruba leader, who should be supported by  all citizens because of his track record of achievements in the senate  and for his  commitment to realisation of the dreams of the Yoruba forefathers.

“I have said it before that this election is a no contest. Those people in the AC are mere noise makers and since we have been campaigning for the election, have they been seen anywhere near Osun East Senatorial District where the election is taking place?

“They did not campaign. Instead, they chose to stay put in Lagos with their candidate enjoying himself at beer parlours,” Oni said.

Other speakers at the rally  including the PDP South West Chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Oladipo and the Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola stressed that the Yoruba Nation would no longer be in opposition to the government at the centre to enable it have it fair share of the National cake.

The party leaders urged members to unite and work together for victory of the party in Saturday’s election.
