Yar'Adua: Presidency summon Editors to "crucial" meeting
Worried over what sources described as “negative reports about the President’s health,” some top officials of the Presidency are currently meeting with Nigerian media Editors ostensibly to douse or plead for leniency in the reportage of issues surrounding the health of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
Sources told pointblanknews.com that the Presidency has been “very worried” at the spate of reports in the media over the health of President Yar’Adua who has been hospitalized at a Saudi Arabia hospital in the last two weeks for heart and kidney related ailments.
It was gathered that the Editors who are currently lodged at the Transcorp Hilton Hotels, Abuja, paid for by the Presidency, might reach an agreement with the Government officials to either put a stop to the reportage on President Yar’Adua’s health or make it more favorable.
The source however hinted that Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan is not part of the meeting and his approval may not have been sought. |
