Ahoada Crisis: Security report 'll determines Rivers action
RIVERS State Government is likely to employ emergency measures measures in curbing the worrisome crisis in Edegbabiri-Better, a Joinkrama community, in Ahoada West Local Government Area of the state.
But the government action will dependT on how security agencies are seeing the situation.
Information Commissioner, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari , has already alluded to this, while briefing correspondents on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting at Government House, Port Harcourt.
Mrs. Semenitari said the State Executive Council took the decision after considering reports of several Committees set up in the past to intervene in the Edegbabiri crisis, including the one headed by the Deputy Governor, Tele Ikuru.
She explained that the present administration was committed to the protection of lives and property in all parts of the state, hence it would not allow any community to be ruined by crisis.
The Information Commissioner added that the State Executive Council has also concluded work on the State budgetary estimates for 2010 which according to her, is ready for presentation to the State Legislature before Christmas.
According to her the State Government was working towards early presentation of the budget proposal, because of its determination to ensure that next year’s budget should be implemented from the beginning of the year.
A violent crisis broke out from that axis of the state last week claiming some lives and a number of property. |
