*Kwara United FC Vice Chairman lied about Femo Scorpions

It was Engineer Sani Ndanusa, Nigeria’s sitting sports minister and chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC) who submitted lies as facts in his curriculum vitae in his desperate bid to become the President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC). He had earlier same submitted a CV with the truth about himself. When he was disqualified he sent in an amended version of the cv. In order not to be subjudice since the same issues are before an Abuja High Court, I will seize my further comments on the matter.

It is no wonder that down the aisle we are getting replication of the fraudulent nature of people like the sports minister. I have discovered one. I read in one of the sports dailies where one Abdulrasaq Owolabi Agbaji who claims to be Kwara United FC of Ilorin’s Vice Chairman.

He fraudulently claimed to have played for Femo Scorpions of Eruwa, my own home town. This is a team that every youth in the sleepy agrarian community follows like a religion. As soon as I read the said piece, I was initially happy that after all, Eruwa is producing a board member of the Nigerian Professional League (NPL).

Firstly, the name was strange. I asked those who I thought were the encylopaedia and football aficionados and no one could identify him. Bimbola Adesokan, the only journalist from our sleepy community who has a walking database  of all Femo Scorpion players and officials confirmed by e-mail from his USA base “no name like that ever played Femo Scorpions. He surely is a fraud. Stop him.”

In the name of God, will somebody ask the said Mr. Abdulrasaq Owolabi Wopa Agbaji who were his team mates hen he played for the club. This is the face of another thief that wants to rule our football. Was somebody banned for life not to near the precincts of sports again in his life for the scandalous things he has done some years back not smuggled into our football administration? All the developments in the NFF are not surprising to me and worse will happen if this latest thief is installed to rule our football.

I am INSISTING that all candidates running for every position in the NFL or NFF election must be scrutined. As for Femo Scorpions of Eruwa, there was no time ever that we had any name like his. The only Abdulrasaq that played the team in the one with NJAMAH as his nickname. He is also called OREBE. He was a Ghanaian and goalkeeper. He is short and dark complexioned.

Now, we know the quality of the kinds of thieves aspiring to manage our league from this kind of “outsider”. This fraud must be checked now and quickly. Infact, I submit with authority that all his claims to have played elsewhere may all be bundle of concocted lies. I hope he did not lie to the Kwara State government to have gotten the current position he is holding?

The NFL  into whose office he wants to run must go back to their records and tell us who many times and which quality of matches he had handled as a match commissioner to qualify to call himself a “seasoned match commissioner” and which years he has commissioned matches. He still may be a fake. We had one neighbor in Jos who commissioned two amateur league matches some years back and anytime he speaks he makes us to realise “I am very experienced match commissioner” this may be a replica after all.

Until we quickly check at the electoral level some unfit persons, we may realize we have voted in fools and nonentities to rule over our game and the game will be the end loser. All the gains of the Obaseki years will then be eroded. A stitch in time saves more than nine.
