Chinese Investors to establish granite quaries, sugarcane plantation in Ekiti

A group of investors from China’s Shan Dong Province has said that the Shan Dong Province would establish Granite Quarries and Sugar cane plantations in Ekiti State as soon as necessary formalities are completed.

Speaking during a meeting with the State Governor, Engr. Segun Oni over the weekend, leader of the Chinese team, Mr. Zhang Zhi Lin, who  said his team was in the State to assess its business opportunities disclosed that his organisation had already  established a mega quarry worth N2 billion in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital.

Mr. Lin, who noted that the team was impressed with what it has seen, stressed the readiness of the team to join hands with the State Government in its quest to turn the State’s economy around.

Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Mr. Wale Ojo-Lanre, said in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti yesterday that Governor Oni, while speaking with Chinese investors said his administration would continue to provide the necessary incentives for investors wishing to invest in the State.

The governor said his administration was working tirelessly towards making the state a haven for investment through the provision of a good network of roads, world-class infrastructure, as well as a safe, secure and investment- friendly environment.

He disclosed that apart from taking steps to complete the long- abandoned-132/33 KV substation in Ado-Ekiti, his administration had concluded plans to establish six injection substations as part of steps to boost electricity.

Governor Oni urged the Chinese investors to take advantage of the abundant human and material resources as well as favourable business climate in the state    Governor by investing in the State.

The Governor, who  identified  Agriculture, Agro-Processing and  Granite Processing as  lucrative sectors that needed urgent  investment said his administration was ready to forge a working relationship with the Chinese Province.
