Acting President: President Yar'Adua dispatches 'Important Letter' to the National Assembly....Principal Secretary Edevbie returns from Saudi Friday night
Feelers from the Nigeria capital, Abuja indicated on Saturday night that sick President Umaru YarAdua, may have dispatched what sources at the Presidential Villa tag ‘ a very important letter’ to the National Assembly concerning his long absence.
There were speculations last night that the letter could be the legal teeth that would facilitate the emergence of Vice President, Goodluck Jonathan as Acting President.
Pointblanknews sources said the letter whose content is yet to be ascertained, was brought by hand to Abuja by the Principal Secretary to the President, David Edevbie.
It was learnt that Ebevbie was summoned to Saudi Arabia by the Aide De Camp (ADC), to the President, on the orders of his boss, last Thursday.
Sources disclosed further that Edevbie returned to Abuja on Saturday night with a letter from Mr. President.
Very dependable sources close to the president told pointblanknews that few days ago, the president’s ADC contacted some of the Presidents’ men at the National Assembly, and the Villa. He was told that some key members of the Senate were putting together signatures for the eventual impeachment of the President.
It was gathered that shortly after the briefing from his contacts, he acquainted the President of the development. It was also learnt that he was also asked to brief the President’s wife, Turai, and some key members of the President’s kitchen cabinet.
Sources disclosed further that after speaking with President Yar Adua’, the ADC was directed to summon Edevbie to Saudi Arabia to pick up a letter.
It was however not clear at press time when he would deliver the letter the principal officers at the National Asembly.
Pointblanknews gathered also that the VP’s camp is not very happy about the way the whole drama is going down. The VP’s men are feeling sidelined, arguing that their boss deserved to be briefed on any matter concerning his health, and official duties.
