The National Anti Corruption Volunteer Corps (NAVC), a subsidiary of ICPC in Rivers state has lambasted the Rivers state House of Assembly over instructions to the newly appointed chairman of Andoni local government area, Mrs Emilia Nte, to pay all accruing entitlements to the disgraced former chairman, Apostle Fyneface Ayayi irrespective of the large scale fraud and corruption against him.

Speaking to newsmen the Port Harcourt local Government Coordinator of the group, Mr. Buduka Livingstone Amadi obviously incensed noted that corruption is not an act of civility where people are not prosecuted, “there are other chairmen to be fished out hence what the River state house of Assembly has done with the sacking of Andoni local government boss is a just a start albeit it was done with levity”.

Berating the Assembly members he maintained “you cannot indict a corrupt Andoni local government chairman and appeal to the incoming chairman to “please pay” a criminal nuisance his entitlements that is quite absurd.

Apostle Fynface Ayayi must be made to refund every kobo stolen in millions and must be jailed in view of the sufficient evidence indicting him" he said.

Citing an earlier case, the Port Harcourt coordinator emphasized that the Olabode George issue must be referenced hence, the need to call the EFCC, ICPC and other anti graft government agencies to arrest the disgraced Andoni LG boss.

“You cannot treat such felony with levity; these leaders must stop lying to us. We must do everything within our powers to redeem the soul of our nation to transform and realise the Nigerian dream”.

Mr Amadi noted that the nation is ours to plough not to plunder,“he who seeks equity must do equity, Hilary Clinton has just accused Nigeria of innate corruption and bad leadership; can’t we learn” he asked, urging all and sundry to put hands on deck in order to stop corruption.

On a final note he stressed “should any dime of Rivers state tax payers’ money be given to the sacked Andoni chairman, Rivers people should hold the Rivers state house of Assembly accountable”.
