Anambra 2010: The "David" is about emerging
On page 8 of the Daily Sun newspaper of today (Thursday, 2010-01-28) was a story that 9 political parties merged with the aim of endorsing one acceptable candidate for the February 6 gubernatorial election. The parties are NMPP, CPN, NNPP, ADC, PMP, NAP, ANPP, UDP and NCP. They came under the aegis of Coalition of Credible Candidates with the aim of presenting a single candidate for the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State.
To every peace-minded Anambraian, this should be a welcome idea towards returning the devastated Anambra State and politics therein, to normalcy. This also seems consistent with the prophetic visions issued by some men of God, namely Primate Olabayo and Prophet Ayodele – both known for their past direct and successful predictions or visions. They did not see any of the so-called frontrunners becoming the Anambra governor. In their different predictions they hammered on compromise or bargained candidate as the eventual governor. Prophet Ayodele was emphatic when he added that he saw the candidate of ANPP, though ‘he does not know his name’, he added.
Therefore, with the above developments, I believe that Anambra is at the verge of being salvaged and may be with great cost as one may think. God has the answer. If the above-named political parties could be serious in their collective plan, they should include that every other candidate must thereafter partake in the administration that is seen would bring in development and peace to Ndi Anambra. ANPP Ejezie or ADC Nwosu is being suggested to fly the flag as the coalition candidate. ANPP (with its candidate Ejezie) is second largest party in Nigeria and ADC’s Nwosu is grounded in Anambra and its politics and knows what it would take. With any of the two, it is presumed that Anambra would be in peace as against allowing any of the present; loud and ‘controversial’ candidates to be forced on Ndi Anambra. Personal sacrifice should be the catchword.
