Sir,
1,000 PAs: What is Governor Isa Yuguda up to?
Reading through the Nigerian Tribune edition of Thursday January 28, 2010 page 11 and Daily Champion edition of Friday January 29, 2010 page were a story under the heading “2011: Yuguda appoints 1,000 personal aides”. I think this is madness for a governor to contemplate.
In the body of the story, it was understood that Yuguda who dismantled his cabinet commissioners and designated them (now) special advisers. The only person that was left with commissionership tag was the deputy governor, Babayo Gamawa, who he says would not be Commissioner for Land and Survey. May be the helpless man is a Surveyor by qualification/profession.
What Yuguda would be doing with 1,000 personal aides is what beats the imagination of bookmakers. How does he intend to coordinate them? The Nigerian Tribune reported that he was determined to actualize his re-election ambition in 2011 hence it could be one of his reasons. If that is so, then he is not a good manager of Bauchi State. Yuguda had been with a character akin to opportunists. It will be recalled that he left PDP for ANPP to actualize his dream of the governorship of the State and he later returned to PDP after getting married to a daughter of the ailing President Umaru Yar’Adua who has just given birth to a baby named after Umaru. All the movements were to ensure that he remained after 2011; but he is just thinking like human being. God is the final arbiter of what happens with anyone.
For all Bauchi people know; they have resolved to abandon this opportunist and there is very strong support for one Senator Dr. Nazif Suleiman Mohammed among other pack who is most likely to be the next governor of Bauchi State. This information is from a very strong source and Yuguda with his present actions is moving from fry pan to fire, and if you like, blindly.
