Delta now Investors' delight -Uduaghan

Delta State Government has completed arrangements to enter into partnership with foreign investors to boost growth in the Oil and Gas sector as well as the Agricultural sector.

The Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, who announced this while briefing the press on his first day in office after a 3-week annual leave said the abundant mineral deposit in the two sectors has gained international recognition and attracted foreign investors.

Explaining that the future was bright for Deltans, the governor disclosed that even local investors were also interested in the state and would assist in developing its economic potentials in all sectors of the economy.

His words “As at today we are already looking for land for Obasanjo Farms, also a company from Saudi- Arabia is interested in the Gas sector. We will unveil the Warri industrial Business Park this week.”

Asked to disclose the foreign investors already interested in the state, he replied and said “They are many, each of the investors are interested in specific areas.”

He added that when the partnership agreement becomes operational there would be abundant opportunities for economic growth in the state.

The governor commended the Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama (SAN) who acted on his behalf for a job well done and thanked Deltans for been peaceful while he was on leave.

His words “l thank the acting governor for holding brief while l was away, he took adequate care of situation. He has been in government for a while now, he has a lot of experience, he has just briefed me on how he handled the state, and he has done a good job.”

Commenting on the current fuel crisis in the country especially the pump price, Dr. Uduaghan announced that the state government will set up monitoring team to ensure that fuel is available and sold at the normal price.

He called on Deltans to cooperate with his administration and promised to improve their living standard.

The Governor resumed his day by worshipping at the Government House Chapel, after which he inspected the guard of honour mounted by the Police in Government House.
