On behalf of our members we bring you felicitations and to wish you the best as you drive the momentum for greater diplomatic relationship between your home country and our dearest country Nigeria.

We hereby write to bring your attention to the alleged monumental predicaments that some Nigerian students go through since 2008 till date in the hands of the authorities at the University of Buckingham, Business school, Buckinghamshire in the United Kingdom.

Our group has in recent times been inundated with mails from some concerned Nigerian students who have drawn our attention to the ugly practice by the authorities of the above mentioned university in the United Kingdom whereby these Nigerians are deliberately denied their certificates and asked to repeat classes so as to compel them to cough out more tuitions. We urge to please intervene.

By way of example sir, we hereby reproduce part of one of the mails we just received from a concerned student in the University of Buckingham, Business school.

The aggrieved student wrote thus; “it is with heavy heart I write you this letter, this is to explain what Nigerian students suffer in the university of Buckingham, business school. Sir, I am not writing for myself alone, but in this school no

matter what effort you put into doing a masters degree your effort is always wasted because the school does not give you your certificate at the end of your course, it is a known fact that the fees of Nigerian students are used to run the school, even after paying the tuition of 13,200 pounds per annum, this does not include accommodation and general upkeep. The school authorities make it a point of duty to either give a postgraduate diploma certificate even after you have paid for masters and met all criteria to be awarded a masters degree or make the student to keep paying fees under the disguise of not passing courses”.

“Sir, our parents back home in Nigeria have worked so hard to make this funds available to send us to school, but the University of Buckingham would rather collect our fees and give us something else in return, please sir, this message is a save our soul”.

“Sir, I know as a parent your heart goes out to all of us who are oppressed in this manner. Please tell University of Buckingham to release the masters degree certificate of Nigerian students. The school is not part of any association or body, so it acts alone. This is because they do not want anybody to checkmate their activities.

Sir please save us this is murder in the daytime, how can our funds just go down in the drain”?
