Sir,
Obi owes his victory to INEC, PDP & Its 'Members'
Apart from divine intervention that Anambra would not be on fire as predicted by bookmakers, it is a fact that Obi should thank spoilers, decamped PDP members, and PDP anti-party rabble-rousers. God made it in a way that voters were disenfranchised and yet the expected trouble did not take place. It should be recalled that INEC created a situation where only 16% (301,000) of the registered voters were allowed to exercise their civic responsibility even though many filed out to fulfil their obligation.
Among those that made Obi’s day were spoilers like Chris Uba and his team who have expressed happiness that Soludo lost. Others are decamped PDP members that contested on other political parties’ platforms, namely Andy Uba (LP), Uche Ekwunife (PPA), Ukachukwu (HDP); and anti-party commentators like Governor Godswill Akpabio, Senator Annie Okonkwo, Chief Don Etiebet, etc. All this show how weak the PDP’s National Working Committee and its National Executive Council under the Chairmanship of Prince Ogbulafor are.
PDP might be heading for the rocks in the coming elections if they failed to sort out things amicably in more than the following States – Plateau, Akwa Ibom, Oyo, Ebonyi, Edo, etc. It is not too late to have a clean slate, starting with ouster of Prince Ogbulafor. PDP lacks internal democracy and selective in treating anti-party activities of its members.
