Former Governors who were heavily indicted for money laundering, abuse of office and other financial crimes while in office have appeared before the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC as a prelude to their prosecution.
Eighteen others are still awaiting invitation as their case files are yet to be completed by the financial crime busters, pointblanknews has learnt.
The trio former Governor of River State, Peter Odili former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori and former Governor of Taraba State Jolly Nyame had been indicted by the EFCC while in office but were shielded by the immunity clause in the Nigerian constitution.
The appearance of the ex-Governors at the request of the EFCC pointblanknews learnt is to put finishing touches on the investigations that led to their indictment while in office.
Pointblanknews learnt from sources at the EFCC headquarters that those who fail to appear would be declared wanted.
