Why attack Farida Waziri?
Another issue has arisen again, when we have crisis more important and so dear to the nation like the recent Jos killings, the Kano state market fire, the recent passing away of the Lamido of Adamawa; some corrupt criminals still want all the attention on themselves.
The recent attack on the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mrs. Farida Waziri on SaharaReporters in respect of one Victor Uwajeh who I read was recently arraigned by the Commission, shows that some of her enemies are out to get her removed from office.
Sometimes, I wonder if a lot of people don’t know that the EFCC only has a responsibility to prevent the crime from being committed, and when committed, they investigate, arrest suspects and charge them to court. The courts take control at that point and when these cases are not coming to an end on time, the public get agitated and accuse EFCC of not jailing A and B, forgetting that they have done what is expected of them.
This is, however, not shocking as I surely know that Madam Farida had boasted at her inception at the Commission that she will step on corrupt toes no matter whose ox is gored. There is no doubt that she has being stepping on toes as she had promised.
The recent arraignment of former Nasarawa State Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, former Sokoto state governor, Attahiru Bafarawa, the N5.2billilon scam case against Senator Elumelu, Hon Ndidi Elumelu and co, the recent investigation on the former Governor of Delta State James Ibori are all enough to bring about the barrage of attack she is receiving at the moment.
Please, in the name of GOD, allow this woman do her job no human being is perfect, but she is trying her best to see corrupt people are behind the bars. She needs all our support.
