 |
Bro. Sunday Okeke |
A born-again cult member, Bro. Sunday
Okeke, has gone into hiding for fear of death should he be sighted for allegedly disclosing the identities of cultists and their sponsors, who are alleged to be top government functionaries and powerful politicians in the country. Sunday Okeke’s travails started when he denounced membership of the dreaded Neo-Black Movement (aka) Black Axe.
It was end of the road for some of the dreaded cultists of UNICAL and other institutions in the country which occurred last year December 31, 2009 following the arrest of the coordinator of Neo-Black Movement (aka) Black Axe of University of Calabar chapter. The Suspect who identified himself as Mr. Nathan Asuquo of Black Axe Fraternity which police were allegedly informed, that about three out of the 18 students allegedly died as a result of the initiation exercise, and were secretly buried.
With the revelation, one of the repented members of the movement, Mr. Sunday Okeke who has given his life to Christ had earlier advised some of the members to stop cultism and turn to new life, was fingered by the members as the police informant that has led to the arrest of many other members of the cult group all over the country they have therefore, issued a task to take him out of the way for exposing them especially those in high places.
Mr. Okeke has been in hiding due to threat to his life. It was revealed that Mr. Okeke who left the group in October 2009 said that he was into hiding due to the kind of persons and powers that one has to take precautionary measures, as the boys are not alone. He said not that the boys are the problem, cultism was formed by those in high positions, in the government as well as politicians, members of the public and powerful businessmen and women.
Even some police officers belong to it for their selfish interest and greed for power such as kidnapping, political power and thugery. He said that if the government wants to stop cultism, they should declare amnesty to all cultists especially in all the institutions as many want to come out as a free persons but due to the powers and kind of people that are involved, those wishing to denounce are in danger or risk of going to jail, hence they have no option than to remain there.
