Obasanjo To Gbenga: I Warned You About Mojisola!

OBASANJO TO GBENGA: I WARNED YOU ABOUT MOJISOLA!

Olusegun Obasanjo

Finally efforts to bring unity back to the divided household of former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, are beginning to yield result. But not so fast, the embattled former Nigerian Leader is using the little opening for reconciliation between him and his estranged first son, Dr. Olugbenga Obasanjo to remind the angry child that he forewarned him on Mojisola’s antecedents.

Obasanjo whose political fortunes have lately taken a disastrous dip in the wake of allegations of incestuous relationship with his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mojisola Obasanjo, used the opportunity of a brokered truce between him and his heir, Gbenga to offer limited insight into the lingering family feud.

The meeting initiated by some Egba and Owu chiefs led by the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo late last February, 2008, was the second since the scandal rocking the former first family broke out.

The concerned elders and traditional rulers of Owu and Egba clans, South West Nigeria decided to bring the feuding father and son together so that the shame called by Obasanjo’s alleged misconduct might be washed off. The ex-president was said to have told the delegation during an initial consultation at which Gbenga was not present that he could not say much unless he was brought before him so that he could clarify some foggy aspect of the his alleged misdemeanor.

Some sources that were privy to the follow-up meetings that was said to have been taken place at the Obasanjo farm, Otta, said that despite initial mixed feelings Gbenga decided to accept the invitation thus after a long silence there was a face to face encounter.

And then, chief Obasanjo was said to have taken charge of the environment by saying that he only had three posers for Gbenga: One, “Did I not warn you about the danger involved in marrying Mojisola when you first brought her to me?” Gbenga was said to have answered in the affirmative.

Second, the veteran of several battles, both military and civil, was said to have again asked in the presence of the Egba and Owu chiefs that: “Did I not give you the privilege information that Mojisola was her own father’s girlfriend?” To this Gbenga was said to have answered yes, again. Finally Obasanjo reportedly asked Gbenga if he did not also tell him that Otunba Alex Onabanjo regularly pimped his daughter, Mojisola for some circle of friends and associates to which Gbenga purportedly said yes again. Thereafter, the ageing farmer was said to have asked for relieve of the gathering so that he could tend to his plants and chickens as he had no more to say other what he had already volunteered.

Gbenga Obasanjo

The stunned Egba and Owu Chiefs were said to have left after it appeared that Obasanjo and his son apparently knew before hand the consequences of the marriage between Gbenga and Moji. They were said to have however advised that the Obasanjo’s family should save the Egba and Owu people the embarrassment the scandal has caused.

At an earlier meeting, a source close to the Obasanjo Family had disclosed to pointblanknews.com that Dr. Obasanjo was spotted at a meeting with the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, where he expressed his disappointment, sorrow and personal grief on the incestuous conduct of ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo and his father-in-law, Chief Alex Onabanjo.

Gbenga was said to have told the Egba paramount ruler that Obasanjo was not alone in having mind disturbing sexual escapades with ladies with close family ties that other powerful and influential Nigerians have been engaging in similar incestuous act for purposes of rituals popular called “Awure” in Yoruba Land.

Meanwhile, Justice Dawodu Williams of Ikeja High Court has fixed 2 April, 2008, to commence proceedings on the messy divorce suit between Gbenga Obasanjo and his wife, Moji.

Moji had filed a divorce suit against her husband but in his cross-petition against the suit, Gbenga alleged that his father, former President Olusegun Obasanjo slept with his wife, Moji.

Gbenga alleged in the cross-petition that his father seduced his estranged wife with NNPC contracts and slept with her.

He also swore that he had grounds to suspect that his father-in-law, Otunba Alex Onabanjo, slept with his daughter and abused her sexually.
