CNPP Wants Auditor General To Release 2007 Reports

CNPP WANTS AUDITOR GENERAL TO RELEASE 2007 REPORTS

The Conference of Nigeria's Political Parties(CNPP, has called on the office of Nigeria's Auditor-General , to submit the 2007 audited report to the National Assembly to ensure accountability.

The call was contained in a statement by the CNPP's spokesman, Osite Okechukwu made available to pointblanknews at the weekend.

According to the coalition, since the former Auditor-General, Vincent Azie was sacked no audited report has reached the congress.

They described the development as " gross misconduct, dereliction of duty and subversion of section 85 of the Nigeria's constitution.

CNPP maintained that " the danger is that the non-performance of the Auditor-General has contaminated the states auditor-generals, we have no record of any state where annual audited report was submitted to the state assemblies.

The coalition argued that such trend encouraged large scale corruption in federal ministries and agencies as evidenced in the sacking of the former Health minister, Adenike Grange over an alleged N300million fraud.
