KINSMEN AT WAR WITH AKURE MONARCH

There appears to be no love lost between the monarch of Akure, in Ondo State, Nigeria, Oba Oluwasola Adesina Adepoju, and his kinsmen, as a section of the town accuses him of questionable style of administration.

 

But the King who spoke with pointblanknews in an exclusive interview over the telephone, has described the allegations of as baseless.

 

The string of allegations include his alledged unfair backing of the town's union of cement retailers against a kinsman and businessman, Mr olasoniyi, his tacit approval of the activities of street urchins, popularly called area boys,and the  practice of harmful rituals.

 

according to some of his kinsmen, the monarch is behind the high price of cement sold by the union which they claim fronts for the state's investment corporation.

According to them, while Olasoniyi sells a bag of cemet for N1600, the union backed by the monarch retails a bag for between N1800, and N2000.They alledged that the king and his agents are trying to force Olasoniyi out of business through questionable means and allow the union prevail.

 

But the king claims he only advised the businessman to make a N10 concession. He however acknowledged that meddling in the price war instead of allow market forces determine, could harm him.

 

On rituals and the activities of street urchins, he said he is not a satanist, and that he is in the forefront of getting rid of the so called area boys from Akure.
