PDP NATIONAL SECRETARIAT LAUNCH
CORRUPTION INCORPORATED
Peoples Democratic Party {PDP}, in launching the N10 billion national secretariat of the party at Abuja, has demonstrated not only the unholy alliance between the party and the Corporate Nigeria; but corruption incorporated, insensitivity , disconnect with citizens and total abuse of power.
The launching has shown clearly in no uncertain terms, that the leadership of the PDP is only obsessed with ruling Nigeria for 60 years, by hook or crook and least concerned about the mass poverty, gross unemployment, decayed infrastructure and total hopelessness in the land.
That the Corporate Nigeria king-pins were the major donors, clearly show cases pay back time, when the beneficiaries of the importation of refined petroleum products, foreign reserve, Hilton hotel Abuja, rice and essential commodities; incidentally the same group that funded Obasanjo library and PDP elections, are trading by barter.
This is why PDP squanders our oil money recklessly, increases prices of petrol products at will and refuses to neither fix our refinery, infrastructure, nor fund agriculture, at the same time claiming a non-existence fuel subsidy.
Which project in Ogun State has Femi Otedola , Aliko Dangote in Kano State or the Bankers, funded with one billion naira , except PDP bogus national secretariat project? It is high time Nigerians should ask questions on what was the financial profile of these multi-billionaires beneficiaries of our golden-oil-age in 1998?
CNPP has for the umpteenth time alerted Nigerians that PDP inspite of unprecedented oil windfall has mischievously failed to either repair existing refineries or build new ones; because of the easy money from importers of refined petroleum products. Same story is applicable to willful refusal to subsidize agriculture and halt importation of rice and other essential commodities.
The painful result of the PDP inhumane and anti-people economic policy is that while the Corporate Nigeria king-pins are making mega profits; violence is writ large, Nigerians poorer, live expectancy shorter and mass exodus of the youths alarming.
Secondly, since 1999 golden-oil-age, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and his successor, President Umaru Musa Yaradua,at variance with the economic objective of the State as enshrined in Section 16{2}{c} of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; deliberately operates the economy in such a manner that the wealth of the nation is now concentrated in the hands of a few, thus violating the laws of the land. Where then is the rule of law?
We had thought that the PDP could have converted one floor of the Hilton hotel Abuja that the chairman of Board of Trusty of the PDP acquired while in office and use the N10 billion to fund social services that are in dire need.
It is our considered view that PDP is a tragedy to the growth of Nigerian democracy; for neither the country nor her democracy can grow under corruption incorporated and inept leadership.
Consequently, we challenge the anti-graft agencies to investigate the sources of fund raised at the launch; as monumental corruption of the past nine years has kept Nigeria in darkness.
