Nigerians! Let’s Reply Orji Kalu on What Went Wrong With Nigeria

Dear Nigerians,

On Saturday, the 15 th day of November, 2008, Mr. Orji Uzor Kalu, a former Governor of Abia State and present day human right activist cum writer in continuation of his disregard and contempt for decency and scholarship posted an article titled “What Really Went Wrong?”.

In the article Mr. Kalu was at a loss as to what actually went wrong with our dear country that has indeed brought it to its current sorry state of disrepair.

Pontificating as he always does he took the position of you and me the helpless ones requesting for an answer which he insisted must be underlined by ‘sincerity of heart’, ‘self purge’ and ‘true immolation’ which he believed must serve as catalysts to providing a suitable answer to his poser. He also challenged his readership and beyond to tackle the complicated question from the frontiers of deep patriotism upheld by ‘national rebirth’.

We do not intend to condescend to running a complete analysis on yet another deriding article by a man who has played an important role that has shaped the outlook of the present day Nigeria as typified in one of the 36 federating units which he governed for eight straight years.

We have provided a link for you all to have a go and decipher for yourselves another case study on the insults on our collective psyches by the leadership of this country who have wasted our chances at economic and social growth and stability.

The evolution of ICT and World Wide Web has availed the down trodden and oppressed the chance to speak up and act against insult, depravity and hypocrisy in realms of leadership; it has even gone ahead to play strategic roles in the emergence of solid democracies as witnessed recently.
