RE: WHY WE'VE NOT ENDORSED FASONRANTI, BY AJASIN'S CHILDREN

We have decided to respond to the rude statements made by the children of our late astute leader Chief Micheal Adekunle Ajasin on why they have not endorsed Chief Rueben Fasonranti published in THE NATION Newspaper of Thursday, December 25, 2008.

The statement came from persons whose track records lack the merit or the importance being arrogated to themselves and lacking the moral right to the same and attitude that is not consistent with our late leader. The confirmation of Chief Rueben Fasonranti was done legitimately according to the practice and tradition of appointing leaders in our organization; this shows that the people who made the statement lack knowledge regarding our history and practice.

We recall that one of the persons in question had once been walked out by the leadership at the instance of the doubt of his loyalty to the organization prompted by members from his state and has since been stopped from attending the organization¢s meetings. So, should such a person lay claim to a right to endorse the new leader? His statement that our leaders are tired and worn out only exhibits his lack of depth and inconsistence with morals of exhibited by his late parents.

Without any doubt as to the remarkable and exemplary legacies of Chief Adekunle Ajasin, we affirm that his political astuteness was not inherited by his children as demonstrated by the vague statement; where individuals query the actions of the collective and arrogate power of endorsement to themselves.

The Children of our leader have been the utmost beneficiaries of the organization¢s influence from appointments both at state and national levels, to committed efforts and support by our organisation for the promotion of the legacy of the late leader through a sustained participation at the foundation¢s activities.

The activities and actions of Ajasin children, especially when it comes to their commitment to the organization at instances when their personal interest is threatened, have shown that their fathers political / progressive traits were not inherited.

Finally, we affirm that the leadership in Afenifere is not in need of any legitimacy or endorsement from any individual or group and as such any person, family or group of persons who seek relevance by making blurred statements should look elsewhere.
