“YOU ARE ON THE THROES OF EXTINCTION” -LAGOS AC TELLS SOUTH WEST PDP.
The Lagos State chapter of the Action Congress has chided the South West PDP for throwing its support to the Speaker of the House of Representatives over his irrational call for deployment of soldiers to Ekiti State for the re-run election of April 25. The party describes what passes as South West PDP as a frightened bunch of political opportunists who believe that the electoral system must be subjected to violent manipulation for them to remain relevant.
In a release in Lagos, signed by the party’s Lagos State Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe, Lagos AC says that for a party that boasts of being loved by the people to believe that it can only win election among the same people, through the employment of force is the height of the political aberration of the past ten years where the South West PDP has been the biggest beneficiary. It advises the South West PDP to warm up to the reality that its impostor role in South West politics is over for good and that it is writhing in the throes of extinction, which nothing can save it from.
“It is understandable why the South West PDP is the only group that had so far supported the infantile threat of the peevish Speaker to send soldiers to rig the Ekiti bye election. Even when the Speaker, seemingly embarrassed by the recklessness of the threat, has issued a rebuttal, the South West PDP still feels that it must be availed of soldiers for it to steal the next election, as it did in 2003 and 2007. This is the tragedy of the state of political corruption the PDP has visited on Nigeria in ten morbid years of decay and rot. It is sad indeed!
“ The reality is that the South West PDP sees its end in sight with a free and fair election. They merely want a recreation of the state of violence with which they carted away the mandates of the people of the South West in 2003 and 2007. They know they are mere impostors in a region with rich democratic credentials and as such are scared that a free and fair election, which is the ground norm of a democratic order, will expose the fact that the PDP is a vote-robbing machine and nothing more.
“We want the leaders of the South West PDP to stop living in fool’s paradise that they will continue stealing the electoral mandates of the people of the South West and be allowed to go home and eat from the fruits of their criminality. We want to let them know that in a democratic order, there is nothing like deployment of soldiers to steal elections for any party. All go to the electorates to freely canvass for votes based on their popularity and the electorates reciprocate. It is understandable why the so-called South West PDP never believes in this time-honoured ingredient of democracy. It was bred and born by a mischievous grandfather of do-or-die politics and here all means are fair to capture and steal the mandates of the people.
“All things considered; the situation on ground now, from the gamut of AC supporters in the South West, from the press, from the civil society groups, from both scientific and local opinion polls, the elite dispensation and with the disastrous performance of the PDP in the South West since 2003, the AC is the owner of the game in the South West and nothing can change this reality.
“Lagos AC urges the South West PDP to warm up to an impending reality of its extinction, as recently expressed by its own Senator Kamoru Adedibu instead of thinking it would be allowed to further be allowed to cause mayhem and bloodshed so as to continue to steal the people’s mandate. We sympathize with these impostors because they are watching as their unmerited feeding bottle is being taken away from them through a through the positive forces of democracy. We want to let them know that nothing can stop an idea whose time has come and the time has come for their posturing to the leadership of the South West to come to an end.”
