“DECLARE FAYEMI WINNER AND END THIS NEEDLESS DEADLOCK”-LAGOS AC CHARGES INEC.
With the present deadline occasioned by the decision of the good people of Ekiti State to prevent the scandalous rigging of the PDP and the determination of the PDP to force the announcement of the phantom result, the Lagos State chapter of the Action Congress has said that the only way to break the deadline is for INEC to immediately declare the true winner of the Ekiti governorship election, Dr. Kayode Fayemi. It said that the needless deadline in Ekiti is occasioned by the untoward greed of the PDP who are still searching on how best to rob the Ekiti people of their mandate.
In a release in Lagos, signed by the Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the AC, Joe Igbokwe, the party says that it is a big shame for the PDP to think they will rig the general election in Ekiti State with fraudulent results from two wards out of the 177 wards in Ekiti State. It therefore advises the PDP to give up and stop thinking that by a queer arrangement to satisfy its stealing instincts by all means, it would be allowed to steal the Ekiti election in broad daylight.
“From the approved results released so far and from the tally from the results that have not been officially released, it is clearly obvious that Dr. Kayode Fayemi clearly and without doubt, has won the election for the governorship of Ekiti State. We maintain that the strange rigging strategy of cooking up 18,000 votes from two wards is an afterthought, a hare-brained and stupid tactics of irreverent electoral marauders and shameless thieves, which can never be allowed to stand. We wonder what the PDP takes Nigerians to be that they are fooling themselves that Nigerians owe them a license to tolerate all their pranks and shenanigans, even as they are as stupid as the one they are now doing in Ekiti State.
“It is the position of Lagos AC that Dr. Fayemi has satisfied all requisite constitutional requirements to be declared the Ekiti State Governor, having secured majority votes in elections held in over 95 per cent of Ekiti State and holding his declaration in abeyance because INEC, with the persistent pressure from the PDP and the presidency, wants to accommodate the stupid forgery of Oni and his cahoots, is unacceptable to Nigerians. We are watching with concern the ridicule the PDP scheme and the deliberate delay in announcing the winner of a make-up election in Ekiti State is generating and the sore and bad image it is heaping on the country. Even as the shameful and open conduct of PDP members and officials in Ekiti State on the day of the make-up election is abhorrent, we view the delay in officially announcing the winner of the Ekiti re-run, just because the PDP is still exploring ways of accommodating their daylight fraud, as the height of the perfidy the Nigerian people must be prepared to resist in the coming days.
“What could be more shameful than the fact that the PDP was already engaged in multiple thumb printing ahead of the suspended election in Oye on the morning of Sunday, April 26? We dare ask, is the country indebted to the PDP that we must tolerate the kind of absurd and farcical liberty it is taking with the Ekiti re-run? Is the nation obliged to live with the remorseless resolve of the PDP to ensure that the country’s electoral system is made permanently fraudulent so that the PDP will continue plundering the country? We do not think so, which is why all Nigerians must gird their loins for the fight of their lives, meant to free the country’s electoral system from the desperate and bloody claws of the PDP.
“We re-state our position and the position of the good people of Ekiti State that Dr. Fayemi should be officially declared the winner of the Ekiti gubernatorial election because he has secured the mandate of Ekiti people. We insist that this country has tolerated enough of the excesses of the PDP and that we cannot go on, as is apparent from the instigated stalemate in Ekiti presently. As is obvious, the farcical cook-up from Ekiti, a trump card to the do-or-die PDP efforts to rig the Ekiti re-run, will never be allowed to infest the result of the re-run so let Dr. Fayemi have his mandate and stop the present artificial siege on Ekiti State by the delay in announcing the results of an election where a clear winner, Dr. Kayode Fayemi emerged.”
