LAGOS AC DISMISSES LAGOS PDP’S RANTING.
The Lagos State chapter of the Action Congress has dismissed the recent criticisms by the Lagos State PDP as the ranting of an irredeemable bunch of political misfits who have boxed themselves into the paranoid state of living in perpetual denial as a means of finding relevance. The party says that having been a confirmed failure and with the prospect of further slipping into extinction by the widely-acknowledged performance of the AC government of Governor Fashola, the PDP has shamelessly embraced denying facts and struggling to whip cheap and dirty sentiments in the hope that somehow, it will gain relevance from that futile gamble.
In a release in Lagos, signed by the party’s Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the AC, Joe Igbokwe, Lagos AC says that for the fact that Lagos PDP addressed a press conference just to deny facts that are not only on the ground but acknowledged and hailed by even members of their party is a demonstration of acutely warped mindset that can never ever admit the truth for the fear that it will lead them to political oblivion. The party advises the Lagos PDP to stop investing in the wind, which their febrile attempt to deny the good works happening in Lagos presently, amounts to but to warm up to the fact that it can never ever be allowed to ruin Lagos, as it done most parts of the country in the past ten years.
“We are alarmed that in its desperation to curry notice and sympathy, Lagos PDP went extra miles to not only deny known facts on the ground but to invent spurious issues and allegations so as to discredit a performing government. But even as we are alarmed, we are not surprised that the PDP is taking this course because it is going to extinction in Lagos where a competent government is steering the state to fulfillment and progress. Lagos PDP is clearly frustrated and confused because it has no foothold whatsoever in Lagos and the emerging great performance of the Fashola government is worsening its pitiable state.
“We would never allow ourselves to descend to the pitiable state of the bunch that calls itself Lagos State PDP because it represents all that is detestable with the country’s present malfunctioning democracy. But we suspect a degeneration into a state of acute madness for a party to think that with mere twists of words and vain statements, it will rubbish the landmark value the AC has added to Lagos in the last ten years. We pity the irascible bunch that thinks that it can reduce the massive infrastructure transformation going on in all sectors in Lagos to planting of flowers and such other vain phrases by a sick and troubled party that has clearly led Nigeria to perdition and has looted the massive wealth of the country in the last ten years. We pity the irrevocably paranoid bunch called Lagos PDP because with each passing day, it is discovering that its pipe-dream of adding Lagos to the list of its vassal territory and pliable fat cows is being made to look like what it is; a mid-day fantasy that will never come to pass.
“Lagos AC is happy that Nigerians know what the PDP is and what it represents in Nigeria after ten years of blistering waste-laying so for them to think they can distract a high-performing government as the present government in Lagos is an exercise in futility. To think that they can whip cheap sentiment by making an unholy appeal to the sentiments of those they feel were displaced by the effort to transform Lagos from the junk intent of their political grandfather, Olusegun Obasanjo to a modern mega city, is a pipe dream that will never come to pass. It may interests them that those whose sentiments they are struggling to exploit for their gluttony and traditional greed are keying into the new Lagos and are indeed singing the praise of Governor Fashola for his bold and great efforts.
“We are proud that far from the self-serving pictures of woes the Lagos PDP desperately sought to create about a new Lagos, the state has become a reference point to the entire country and is openly acknowledged as such by even PDP governors and officials as our best effort at practical development. While Lagos PDP sulks about not being allowed by the good people of Lagos to rape and plunder Lagos, Nigerians are celebrating Governor Fashola and pointing to him as our hope for a new emerging generation from the rump of disaster, which the PDP has represented in the last ten years.
“We advise Lagos PDP to keep mute where they could not find themselves acknowledging or lauding the great work Fashola is doing in Lagos. Trying to trivialize them through spurious tales and whipping cheap sentiments will only worsen their case for it will expose them as aberrant to good works and great intentions. It will only postpone their impossible intention of replacing a performing government because what Fashola is doing in Lagos will not even be successfully rubbished in the next ten years. Living in denial of an obvious fact will neither help them nor the intention of having Lagos as an extension of their well-known feasting with the resources of the country.”
