EXPOSED: YAR’ADUA AGENTS IN OPPOSITION
Ahead of its forthcoming National Summit on the Future of Nigeria, where the ongoing Mega Party initiative will be formalized, a group of eminent political leaders under the aegis of Mega Summit Movement has alerted the nation of another sinister move from the Nigerian presidency to scuttle its Mega Movement initiative.
According to the group, in a statement issued on sunday in Lagos by its Media Assistant, Alhaji Hamisu San Turaki, “the high level political maneuvering is already being hatched by fake opposition leaders, working surreptitiously with state security agents to sweep off genuine opposition to president Yar’ Adua 2 nd term agenda
These characters are survivalists, who still continue to posture as progressives but are, in actual fact, turn coats, who now bother only about their survival and relevance”
He also alleged that two of them in a bid to negotiate their shady past have become pawns in the hands of the state. “These politicians are already blackmailed to do Yar’ Adua bidding though they still posture as opposition leaders, while their cohorts are just desperately in need of some economic rehabilitation and relevance”
The state has cleverly capitalized on their vulnerability to assign them the dirty job of undermining the new move to set up a formidable mega party capable of taking power from Yar’ Adua. These set of opposition leaders, our intelligence checks on the 2003 and 2007 elections reveal, are not new to disastrous unholy alliance. San Turaki disclosed
“While we concede the right of political affiliations to them, we strongly condemn the attempt to mislead and confuse the Nigerian democratic movement by subtly conspiring with President Umoru Yar’ Adua to subvert the will of the Nigerian people to have a strong alternative party that can take power from the insensitive ruling clique”
The group said the plot, which is set to manifest fully this month is aimed at subverting all real or perceived threat to Yar’ Adua second term by using some opposition formations to undermine ongoing initiative on popular electoral reform and the formation of a formidable mega party.
Top on the sinister move is systematic clamp down and financial inducement of opposition forces in neutralizing the threat posed to Yar’ Adua’s second term agenda by the new alliance among some former presidential candidates in the mega party especially the new collaboration between Atiku and Buhari camps in the mega party.
