Lagos AC Rejoices with Chief Bisi Akande  at 71.

The Lagos State chapter of the Action Congress has sent its hearty congratulations to the National Chairman of the Action Congress, Chief Bisi Akande on his 71 st birthday celebration. The party says that while it wishes Chief Akande many more fruitful years of selfless service to the country, it urges Chief Akande to stay committed to the progressive politics that has endeared him to millions of progressives all over the country.

In a release in Lagos, signed by the Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the AC, Joe Igbokwe, the party says that Chief Akande has blazed a noble trail in honesty and integrity in politics that men like him are becoming very rare in the politics of the country. It prays to God to grant the nation an abundance of honest and selfless politicians like Akande who can clear the heavy tar on the image of the country’s politics.

“We laud Chief Akande on this memorable occasion and identify with his honest leadership in the country’s political history. We proudly identify with his politics, his worldview and his perspectives of life. We are proud that Nigeria has benefitted immensely from Chief Akande’s honest disposition to politics and even when the system is seemingly overwhelmed by dubious politics and politicians, we still find enough space to celebrate such icons as Chief Akande.

“As the chairman of our great party, we can affirm that Chief Akande has brought his honesty and integrity to bear on the running of our party and we all are beneficiaries of his positive values in politics. Nigeria, as a country, struggling to shake off the vestiges of prebendal politics has gained from rare politicians like Chief Akande and stands to benefit more in the years to come. We pray that God grant Chief Akande the stable state of health and courage to continue leading the progressive fight back that our great party is embarking in these darkling times when the country is afflicted by a myriad of problems brought about by lack of honesty in its politics.
